Ingredients

Bupleurum, Desiccated Beef Liver Powder, Euphrasia, Ginger Root Peeled Powder, Ligustrum Lucidum Fruit, Liquorice Ext, Lycium, Paeonia Lactiflora Root, Polygonum Multiflora, White Atractylodes.

Ailments

In traditional Chinese medicine, a liver imbalance will show up in the eyes. So in this formula the traditional herbs Bupleurum and Paeonia clear heat conditions of the eyes, blurry vision, and strengthen the eyes, as well as reduce pain in red and swollen eyes. Futhermore, information gathered from FDA studies show these herbs to protect against halo vision.

Ligustrum promotes circulation and addresses liver symptoms such as headaches and dizziness, while Desiccated beef liver is included as a blood builder, strengthening eyes and vision.

Eye “floaters” are caused by anomalies of the vitreous fluid, the type which in Traditional Chinese Medicine would be classed as “phlegm”. Atractylodes (commonly used in combination formulas for blurred vision), Liquorice and Ginger are included to facilitate  detoxification of any toxicants in other medications and dispel “phlegm”.

Euphrasia, also known as Eyebright, has been used in western folk medicine since the 15th century to support the conjunctival membrane, reducing mucus and opacities in the eye.

Lastly, Polygonum is traditionally used to replenish essence and tonify liver to prevent   blurred vision and other liver-related disorders. In addition, Lycium is included for its potential neuroprotective and cell-protective properties against intraocular pressure, as well as having antioxidant, sugar-balancing and circulatory benefits.
